How to escape from car fire
Many car blaze deaths are happening in the country, particularly in recent years. Do not think that your car will not catch fire because it is new or you do not have CNG fitted in your car. Car fire does not take place because of CNG, LPG or if car is too old, it generally happens due to heat, leakage, short circuit in electronic system.
Be prepared to fight the fire: Get your car regularly checked from an authorised or trusted garage. Keep an emergency kit particularly during long journeys: fire extinguisher, first aid, drinking water, a torch, tow rope, spare tyre, mobile phone etc. a knife (to cut the seatbelt in case the seat belt is stuck) and a small hammer or some other small tool such as a spanner or wheel nut brace can be used to smash the windows of a car in case of a fire. Always keep them within the reach.

What would you do in case of fire?
As soon you detect fire or smoke arising from the bonnet.
1. Keep calm
2. Put Emergency Lights on
3. Stop to a side of the road wherever possible.
4. Switch off the engine
5. Unlock yourself from the seat belt. If cannot open the buckle, push the shoulder strap over your head and try lifting your legs out from underneath the waist strap.
6. Open the door and escape
7. If can’t open the door due to central electronic system then smash the windows and escape
8. In case fire reaches the dashboard and you can’t open the door then go back smash the rare gate window or windshield and escape.
How to help others
If others are not able to escape due to child lock or due to other reasons help them.
Continue from step 1-8
9. Take the smash tool and knife (spanner or wheel nut brace) with you when leaving the car.
11. Open the door or smash the window
12. Help them to escape.

Remember
-Never try to open the bonnet.
-Never go around the car from the front
-Never waste your time to take valuables.
-Never lock your car while driving unless it is required due to security.
