KADUNA – ABUJA HIGH WAY IN KADUNA ON MONDAY (6/5/13) .

No fewer than 30 offenders have been prosecuted by the officials of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Auchi, Etsako-West Local Government Area of Edo in November.

This was disclosed by the commission Auchi Unit Commander, Mr Moses Bature, in an interview with journalists in Auchi on Monday.

According to him, the prosecutions were carried out in different locations through the mobile court.

“In the month of November, the command apprehended 30 traffic offenders with 27 convicted while three were discharged.

“We will continue to go to the roads for daily patrol to ensure enforcement so that when we arrest one, it will serve as deterrent to others,” he said.

The Auchi Unit Commander said that motorists were still overloading their vehicles and violating traffic rules.

He said that the unit had intensified enforcement on overloading and speeding, especially in these ember months.

“Nobody should overload his vehicle, if you are loading your vehicle, you ensure you load the number of passengers your vehicle is supposed to carry.

“Because overloading can impose danger on the lives of people on the road, when you overload it is difficult for the drivers to control their steering,” he said.
